Monday – We will finish The Catcher in The Rye. First we’ll review the few chapters as well as going over main ideas behind Friday’s in-class writing that analyzed JD Salinger’s style. JOURNALS ARE DUE. After that we will compile a list from student brainstorm of topics for our upcoming debates. Both classes (4th and 5th) will vote on 8 topics.
Tuesday – Groups and topics for the debates to be assigned. We will begin our text- looking at 50 Essays, probably beginning with EB White’s class Once More to the Lake.
Wednesday – Short Day. Groups will begin debate preparation.
Thursday – Groups. Debate Preparation
Friday – Class will go the the library for a discussion on research tools conducted by Ms. Walfoort, our librarian.
